RTC v3 eclipse client against an RTC v2 server

Does anyone know whether the RTC v3 eclipse client will operate against an RTC v2 server? I regularly access 2 different RTC servers, one has recently been migrated to RTC v3, and the other is still at RTC v2. My v2.0.0.2 eclipse client will not connect to the RTC v3 server, and I am worried that if I upgrade my client to v3 I will no longer be able to access the RTC v2 server.

Thanks.

In general new clients will not work against older major releases of a
server.

In general, a client should work against the next major release of a
server, so you can upgrade to the next major release of a server and
still have your existing clients for that release work. But note that
the RTC-3.0 release was an exception to this general rule, because an
RTC-2.0 client does not work against an RTC-3.0 server, even though
RTC-3.0 was the next major release. This general rule will hold for the
next major release of the RTC server, i.e., the RTC-3.0.* clients will
work against the next major release of the RTC server.

Cheers,
Geoff
