Authentication using multiple sources

Hi
I have seen one or two cases where a JTS server (and the applications like ccm and rqm) needs to be accessed by two distinct groups of people: 1) internal users - normally authenticated using LDAP and 2) trusted 3rd-parties that are not on the corporate LDAP.
Putting aside the question of access to the server, is there a way of setting up JTS so it will work with a mixture of LDAP and other authentication (eg: tomcat-users.xml) - so the two groups can access the same server.
many thanks
anthony
