Issues with MS Project Import In To RTC 3.0

I created a "scrum" project in RTC 3.0. I then went to planning and imported a test MS Project that I created. The established start start date in the MS Project was for next month. After the import, I noticed that the "generated" sprints started as of today and not the actual start date. Is this an error? Also I tried to view the Gantt chart to verify the flow, and I could not display it. What do you need to select to display the Gantt chart?
