Resolution field loses information

Ricardo Dias (861105) | asked Dec 29 '10, 6:40 a.m.
Hi Guys,

When changing a Work Item, the field Resolution becomes empty.
To reproduce the behavior:
1) Create a work Item.
2) Make sure you have the Resolution Field filled with some information.
3) List this work Item in a query.
4) Open the Work Item and make a change, then click Save.
5) List this work Item again.
6) The Resolution field is filled with no information.

Can you please advise if this could be a defect or maybe we already have an opened defect for that.

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo Dias

If the change you made to the work item did not modify its Status, then
the Resolution property should not have been affected. So if you are
seeing that happen, please submit a defect (please provide specifics,
such as RTC version, process template, work item type, what change you
made, etc.).

Cheers,
Geoff

Hey, Thanks Geof!
It seems we already have an opened defect for that.

hello,

I came across this odd behavior while working with a customer a little while ago. The root cause was that the States table for the workflow. You must make sure the "Show Resolution" button is checked for the desired state action.

Can you please tell me the open defect for this? We are seeing a similar issue. The State is Done. If at that point a user changes anything in the story at all - the resolution automatically changes. And in the workflow there are NO resolutions for the Done state.

Thanks,
