Is it possible to control modification of a work item type?

In RTC, we have 2 work item types, task and defect. We want everyone full access to task, but only certain roles to submit/modify defect. Is this possible? If so, how to achieve that?

Hi Rachel,

open the process configuration>Team Configuration e.g. in the Eclipse Client.

For each role you can specify for each work item type (in save work items) what a role has permission to do. You want to look into role based create and modify permissions for your types.

In RTC, we have 2 work item types, task and defect. We want everyone full access to task, but only certain roles to submit/modify defect. Is this possible? If so, how to achieve that?

Hi Ralph,

I know you have type-specific control over creation of a work item, but
I don't think you have type-specific control over modification of a work
item, do you?
