Cannot link up a collection with a phase plan in RRC
Hi,
I successfully set up RRC v2.0.0.3 and RTC v3.0 RC2 as well as the integration between the two. Following the integration, I created a project based on ClassicsCD and at the project areas, i created a link to a project in RTC based on "implemented by" relationship. Selected a requirement and I was able to successfully link to a workitem in the RTC project from "Create Link-> Implemented by..." action. When I selected a collection in RRC, as expected, there is an "Implemented by" section under "links" but i could not find the action menu item "Create Link->Implemeneted by...". "Implemented by.." is missing from the "Create link" drop down. I was not able to find anywhere to link a collection to a phase plan in RTC. Whereas in RTC, from a phase plan, i was able to link to the collection in RRC. Is there any configuration that is required or Is this a defect in RRC v2.0.0.3 or a defect between RRC v2.0.0.3 and RTC v3.0 RC2 ? If yes, will this be resolved in RTC v3.0 RC3 or in RTC v3.0 GA ? Thank you in advance for any advice. |

Hi, Hi Kathleen, This could well be a defect. It should work. Now it sounds the error might be in RTC. I say this because when you are in RRC trying to create links to RTC, it is using RTC OSLC dialogs and when in RTC trying to create links to RRC, it is using RRC OSLC dialogs. A little confusing |
Hi,
This is a known "issue" in that our RRC v2.0.0.3 collections cannot link to RTC 3.0 plans from within the RRC rich client. You can, however, link from an RTC 3.0 plan to an RRC v2.0.0.3 collection and it will show up in the rich client. The reason for this is because this plan linking support was added in the OSLC v2 Change Management specifications (http://www.open-services.net). The RRC v2.0.0.3 rich client only consumes the OSLC v1 Change Management specification at this time, which is why this relationship is one way. We plan to support OSLC v2 Change Management in RRC 3.0, so this plan/collection linking will work from both sides. Thanks, Marc Baumbach Software Engineer Rational Requirements Composer |
