Upgrade to RTC 3.0 with context root /ccm

Yann Pochon (4612) | asked Nov 17 '10, 3:50 a.m.
Hi

When upgrading from 2.X to 3.0 the Change and Configuration Management context root is set to /jazz instead of /ccm for a new install.
The doc doesnt make it very clear if its an absolute necessity or if its only to offer backward compatibility.
What if we dont need that feature and dont want to stay behind with the old /jazz? Is it possible to upgrade with the new context root /ccm?

Thanks

If you don't maintain the /jazz context root for the CCM application you will not be able to access any of the RTC 2.x artifacts you previously created.

What do you exactly mean by access? Is it access from outside RTC or access from RTC clients to RTC server?

I mean access from anywhere. If you do not maintain the /jazz context root no user will be able to read or write to the artifacts you previously created. It would be like they are not there.

I am associated with two different projects. One is using an RTC 2 server, the other is using RTC 3.0. I have installed the RTC 3 eclipse client and now I can't access my RTC 2 server. Please help.

If you need to use the Eclipse client, you need to have both an RTC-2.0
and RTC-3.0 eclipse clients installed. In Installation Manager, use
"install" instead of "upgrade".
