Question regqrding document on Attribute Value Providers

One of the points of discussion in the Attribute Value Provides document
pertaines to obtaining ids that have a particular Role assigned to them. In the example showing how to implement this, the attribute that is used is defined as being of type contributor . Would this also work if the attribute I create is of type Contributor_List ?

What I'm hoping could be done is to use this to always have members with the role of Dispatcher automatically assigned as Subscribers. Can it be accomplished this way ?

Here's a link to the document I am referring to.

What would cover your request is a default value of type contributor
list, which is dynamically populated with all users that have a specific
role. This is not available yet, but there is the option to have a
static list of users as the default value for an attribute of type
contributor list.
