Need to have e-mail sent to a Team when Work Item saved

Steve Woodbridge (1352326) | asked Nov 09 '10, 8:27 a.m.
Has anybody come up with a work-around for this ? We have 200+ folks who need to fill out some info and save the Work Item.

At the point of saving the work item, we'd like to have a notification e-mail go to a specific team - always the same team. There is no guarantee that the team monitors for activity. So e-mail is the best way to ensure they see that a Work Item has been created.

I know you can subscribe a Team by dragging and dropping the team into the subscribe area. But that can only be done through the Eclipse client. This would be the only reason they need the Eclipse client.

We'd like to avoid having to go through all the activities related to getting the folks to install Eclipse client and then have to deal with any problems they encounter with the Eclipse client, and any updates/upgrades of the Client .... the usual type of overhead.

Thanks,

Does the specific team only want to know a work item has been created, or do they care abut any changes? If it is the latter, you could add them to the subscriber list for the work item - then they should get email notification of any changes.
