RTC Web UI - problem with internationalization

Enrico Visentin (1642) | asked Oct 29 '10, 5:42 a.m.
Hi all

I am sorry to bother you with this.

We are currently using RTC 2.0.0.2iFix2 (in Italy) and some users need to use the tool's
Web UI, the problem is that we would like to have the UI in English but the
users' browsers are obviously trasmitting the Locale information, so some
parts are still in English and some are in Italian.

We cannot force the users to set their browsers' main language to English in
order to send the right Locale info.

Is there any way to force the RTC Web UI Locale to English and ignore any info
coming from the client browsers?

(We tried via the installatin manager on the server side, but some parts
are - I do not know why - still in italian.)

Thank you very much for your support,

cheers

Enrico.

Hi Enrico,

I am in the same boat. I can't cope with a mixed German/English environment. I use Quick Locale Switcher with firefox but essentially I ended up to have that set to EN forever.

As far as I know there is no other solution yet. I opened https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=73969 because I have exactly the same issue. It is currently closed you could express your need there or create a new one.

One thing that you could still try is setting -Duser.language=en in the serverStartup script, the jbe.ini of the build engines and the eclipse.ini's of the clients. That is not going to fix the WebUi however.
