Time remaining / time spent

Pawel Pieczul (2685) | asked Oct 27 '10, 10:49 a.m.
Hello
I configured project planning to use time remaining for progress tracking.
Then, I wanted to add a field in presentation editor to let user edit time remaining. But what I can add is "time spent". If I rename it to time remaining, everything is fine and value is really treated as time remaining.
But there is one problem - if someone updates time remaining, e-mail notifications show that time spent was updated.
This is very very confusing.
Is this something I can change or is this a bug?
Thanks
Pawel

Hi Pawel,

the root cause of this is that time remaining is really using the time spent field at least in 2.x. There is no time remaining. Just the display changes. There are several work items. I haven't looked into if 3.0 solvs this. I found https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=84750 to start drill down.
