Failed to extend Eclipse SDK 3.5 with RTC 3.0M6

For M6, we have moved to Eclipse 3.5.2. Can you try again with 3.5.2?

I'd like to extend eclipse SDK 3.5 with the RTC 3.0 client. Downloaded your new p2 install. However, the installation fails due to failed dependencies:

Eli I assume you mean the internal development servers? They are being upgraded this Friday evening (I assume you mean jazzdev).

I tried to do the same, install M6 version on Eclipse 3.5. But my installation failed with:

Validation of Eclipse installation configuration failed because it has unsatisfied bundle constraints
Bundle "org.eclipse.equinox.registry_3.5.0.v20100503" does not meet the version tolerance of "[3.3.0,3.5.0)" for the bundle "org.eclipse.core.runtime.compatibility.registry"

I am not an Eclipse scholar, but from what (little) I understand, Equinox is a part of Eclipse IDE, and not an extra package. Can I downgrade it's version? How?

Newer versions of Eclipse are very important for C/C++ developers. CDT packages in new Eclipse versions are much superior to the ones supported by older, native to RTC, Eclipse IDEs.

Hi Shoham

Unless you have a very good reason - you should really be using the released version of RTC 3 (it shipped in Nov). not an early milestone build. Download it from here:

If you have problems installing that version into the version of Eclipse you want to use - let us know via the forum and we will help.

Did you try 3.5.2? RTC 3.0 shipped on Eclipse 3.5.2 so there's no guarantee that it's compatible for 3.5. Also, Anthony is correct that 3.0 final has shipped so it's good to move off an early milestone build.

I have also tried installing RTC 3.0 into Eclipse 3.6 and 3.7M3 and it's been usable.
