Change Sets - Change Audit

Alan D (15631311) | asked Jun 07 '10, 11:22 a.m.
Hi

When a Change Set is promoted from DEV to TEST to STG to PRODUCTION (four of my current code streams), is there any way to see who promoted a given change set. I can see who created the change set but this isn't enough to satisfy the auditors.

TIA

Alan

Well, I found what we are looking for, but it's not ideal.

Switch to the Team Central view and open the Event Log.

On the Event Log menu bar, click the downward arrow and select 'Configure'.

Under 'Show' deselect everything except Source Control Changes.

You will now have a list of all Change Sets delivered to all streams, and who delivered them to that stream.

Problem is, it's a static list, there appears to be no reporting functionality from this. Consequently, I need to copy the entire list into a spreadsheet then use the Excel functions to start stripping information out of each text string. This would be much simpler if there was an option to export the list into a spreadsheet into clearly defined columns (eg Deliverer, change Set Comment, Stream etc).

Now, how do I raise a work item to address the above......
