Test Case and Manual Script - Values results defer

Pierre Lemay (6142) | asked Apr 07 '10, 12:05 p.m.
When we execute a test case with a Manual Test Script, at the level of the test case we have a choice of 9 values of results and at the level of the Manual Test Script we have a choice of only 5 values.
Do you know why we dont have the same values at both levels.
At the level of the test case, the available values of result are:
Passed
Incomplete
Partialy Blocked
Inconclusive
Failed
Error
Blocked
PermFailed
Deferred

At the level of the Manual Script Test, the available values of result are:
Passed
Failed
Blocked
Inconclusive
Error

Manual Tests have a subset of the values that are most applicable.
For instance, a Test Case can be "Incomplete" when only part of the tests have been run, or "Partially Blocked" if only some of the scripts are blocked but those values do not make sense for a typical Manual Script.
Hope that helps.
