Usage of tdm field in labresource

Can anyone tell me what the purpose is of the tdm entity in the labresource entity.

The RQM schema docs http://jazz.net/projects/rational-quality-manager/api-doc-2.0/ states "The TDM representation of the lab resource, suitable for interchange with Rational and Tivoli tooling."

Is this a free form area. Can I add fields inside the tdm?

I want to include items such as asset numbers to a labresource entity and am trying to determine the correct locations for such information.

Thanks

Hello,
The REST API for lab resources has 2 "sub schems". You can use TDM to describe your lab resources or you can use a "simple" format that only supports a subset of the most common lab resource attributes with the ?format=simple CGI flag.

When you say "can I add fields" using TDM, do you mean adding custom lab resource data that is not in the out of the box lab resource schema? If that is what you are interested in then I suggest that you check out this article:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rqmhelp/v2r0/topic/com.ibm.rational.test.lm.doc/topics/t_cust_labres_prop.html

Unfortunately the REST API does not support any custom lab resource data.

Hope that helps.

John Nason
