OutOfBoundsException copying text from Doc artifact
using 2.0.0.1, I created a doc and typed into it over the course of a couple days. Now, after a few sessions, I can no longer copy the text out of it (I could after the first couple sessions). I get a "Copy" did not complete normally" error that says to look in the log for more details. I can't find a View Log or anything in the menus.

The log would typically be located at: C:\Documents and Settings\{Windows login id}\IBM\RequirementsComposer\workspace\.metadata\.log But you can also access it from Help->About Rational Requirements Composer. From the dialog, select Configuration Details and in the resulting dialog, press the View Error Log button. That said, this actually sounds like a defect which is being fixed in 2.0.0.2 (work item 23303 and related friends). |

I was able to work around it by exporting to Word, then copy out of the Word Viewer. On a lark, I restarted the machine. That cleared the error so it's probably not corrupted data. whew. epilog: A restart of the machine was only good for one Copy. Next try failed. Restarting the machine has no affect on this defect. When you receive the error, you should probably exit the editor as I can't be sure of the state of the document at that point. Specific to the error, it has to do with the location of the selected text relative to the overall document and that the selection spans lines.
