Existing items from previous iterations carry over

James Perry (611129) | asked Jan 29 '08, 5:10 p.m.
Heres a scenario which causes me confusion, could someone please clarify:

I have M2, which is made up of 3 iteration plans (Eclipse UI Testing, Eclipse Web UI implementation, Eclipse Web UI testing). When creating these iteration plans, I did not want work items from Eclipse UI testing to show up in the iteration plan for either Eclipse Web UI implementation, or Eclipse Web UI Testing. This did not make sense to me that each iteration plan in the milestone always has the same work items. Also, if I add a Work Item to Eclipse UI testing, it also gets added to the other 2 iteration plans, even though the Work Item is not associated to the other two iteration plans.

Maybe I do not fully understand the concept of an iteration plan. Does what Im saying above make sense?

Thank you.

James,

I understand that you do not want the same Work Item on different Iteration Plans. It does not work like this for me.
There is a relation between Iteration Plans, Teams and Categories.

If I have two Iteration Plans for the same team and same Iteration (would not make sense I think but just to explain) a Work Item with Category associated to this Team and planned for this Iteration would appear in both Iteration Plans.

Can you explain a bit more about your Teams, Iteration Plans and Categories in your project? What version of RTC are you using? When you write that you are using M2 I guess you refer to your project and not to RTC, right?

Elisbeth

Iteration plans are created per iteration and team area. Do you have
different team areas for Eclipse UI Testing, Eclipse Web UI
implementation, Eclipse Web UI testing ?
