ClearCase import tool cumulative imports
In reading over the documentation and articles regarding the ClearCase connector import tool for RTC, it is not clear what happens when follow-on imports are executed after the initial import.
Consider this use case where a small CC UCM project with a few components and a moderate number of files (less then 2000). For simplicity sake, they only have one release under development (R1). The end-game is to migrate completely from ClearCase to RTC source control over a period of time with a cut-over at the end of their current R1 development and start R1 maintenance in RTC and R2 development in RTC as well. Over the course of R1 development, they want to replicate (import) major baseline milestones from ClearCase into RTC. No development or changes would happen in RTC, but they do want to end up with a cumulative baseline history including the final GA baseline in RTC. Can the importer do this type of cumulative importing over time? |

Yes, the ClearCase importer is cumulative.
In particular, when it is re-executed, it only imports baselines that have not yet been imported. Cheers, Geoff thloeber wrote: In reading over the documentation and articles regarding the ClearCase |
