How enable GC for change set created outside it?

M K (30338) | asked Oct 18, 4:03 a.m.
I have a DNG stream that is part of a GC. But I'm not in the GC, my configuration is the stream itself and I start a change set there. After working for a while in the change set, I want to see something that is GC-related, so now I want to apply the GC to that change set. How do i do that? If I try the "Switch" button it puts me in the GC but now I'm outside the change set. Any ideas?

You can add your change set to your 'Personal Stream'.

  1. Open the GC in the 'Global Configuration Manager (GCM)' application.
  2. Expand the right pane.  Find "My Personal Stream" in the Details section.  Click to Open.
  3. If your Personal Stream has not yet been created, click on "click to create"
  4. From your Personal Stream, 'Add Configurations'
  5. Find & Select your Change Set.
  6. In DNG, you can now SWITCH to your Personal Stream, where the Personal Stream is using your Change Set & the original GC.  You should be able to view and edit the GC-related data (links to other artifacts, work items, test cases, ...).
