How to archive an enumeration literal?

Hi,

We have a custom enumeration, which value list is growing over time, and some values are becoming obsolete. Is there a way to archive these literals, so they cannot be selected when a work item is modified / created, but they remain selected at work items already having this value.

No, this is currently not possible. All values that are in an enumeration can be selected and once removed from the enumeration the UI will not be able to show the display name of the literal any more (the ID should shown, but it is normally not user-readable).

Please file an enhancement request on jazz.net against the Work Items component.
