RTC plugin on newer Eclipse versions
Hello,
Is there any workaround to have RTC plugin 6.0.3 (RTC-Client-p2Repo-6.0.3.zip) running on the latest Eclipse versions? It completely brakes the New Software Installation and Marketplace HTTP Client connections.
The latest known version is 2018-12 R (v4.10.0). After that version, you get a broken HTTP connectivity. If you try -clean, then you the RTC plugin does not pop up the connection window to connect to the Jazz server.

There are no plans to increase the Eclipse version support for older versions of RTC.
I found the following information on Eclipse versions that are supported:
-------------------------
Eclipse IDE Support: If you are using IBM Engineering Workflow Management with an Eclipse-based IDE, the minimum Eclipse version supported in EWM v7.0 is Eclipse 4.4.2. This means that any Eclipse IDE dependency in your tools must support Eclipse 4.4.2 or a later supported Eclipse version. EWM v7.0 supports Eclipse 4.4 through 4.8 and also adds support for Eclipse 4.11 as a P2 install option. Eclipse 4.2 support was dropped in v6.0.6.1 so if you are already on v6.0.6.1, the upgrade to EWM v7.0 would not impact your Eclipse IDE tooling, integration and shell sharing support.
Note: In a future v7 release we anticipate moving our Eclipse minimum version to Eclipse 4.7 or later. Keep this in mind. For example, suppose you require Eclipse 4.4, 4.5 or 4.6 support through 2020 and 2021, and you want to take advantage of the DOORS Next improved performance in v7.0. You might decide to upgrade to ELM v7.0 now rather than wait for v7. Next (the release after v7.0), which likely will drop support for Eclipse 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6. Details are subject to change and this is provided for longer-term planning guidance only.

Note: I personally use Eclipse 4.12 and it works fine. I heard there are some UI issues with 4.13 (but forget the details).

Dear David,
I understand that there are no plans to support newer releases, hence I was asking for a kind of workaround. How did you manage to make it work under 4.12? Are we talking about the same RTC plugin?

Yes, I am talking about the RTC/EWM Eclipse client. Overtime we do tend to support newer versions of Eclipse... we are just a little behind in terms of official support.
In case you were not aware, you can download a local p2 repository of RTC/EWM that you can install into any version of Eclipse you want. Ex: Go to the download page (https://jazz.net/downloads/workflow-management/releases/7.0?p=allDownloads) and search for "p2 Install Repository". This is how I installed RTC/EWM in Eclipse 4.12
