RQM connection with Requisite Pro / Doors - is it dynamic ?

Is the integration between RQM and requisite pro / Doors dynamic / realtime? What I mean is, if there is a change in requirements in requisite pro / doors will it be reflected in RQM ?

I learned from RQM website that if there is a change in requirement in the requirement repository provided along with RQM, then it is indicated by an icon and RQM provides the facility to search for all test cases related to this changed requirement and modify accordingly.

Is the same feature available for requirements coming through requiste pro / Doors ?

I am new to RQM and any information in this regard would be of great help.

Hello,

When we had DOORS & RQM working, the "suspect" feature was working perfectly.

How about integration with Requisite Pro?

Where in online help or documentation can I check whether RQM claims for dynamic ( real time) integration with Requisite Pro or not ? Is it there in release notes ?

Sorry, we are a DOORS shop here. We have not tested this.

Any takers?

From the online help for RQM 2.0.0.1 trial standard edition, we can gather the following.

Integrating -> RQM and Rational RequisitePro -> Importing requirements into RQM

Changes in requirements in RequisitePro which are already imported to RQM will get reflected dynamically in RQM provided there is an established connection between RQM and RequisitePro and the synchronisation schedule is set up in RQM

New requirements which are added to RequisitePro will not get reflected in RQM dynamically as the project area to which it should be associated to, is not clear. The new requirements need to be imported again to RQM

Has anybody tried this out ?

Hello,

If you set up a synchronization schedule, the requirement data in RQM will be updated to reflect the ReqPro content whenever the synchronize runs.
So, it's not real-time dynamic but as up to date as when the sync runs.

John

Once the requirements are imported into RQM is there a way to not allow modification of the requirment in RQM? Looking to make requirements in RQM 'read only' but still allow users to create/modify other work items.

Thanks,

Chris

re: cthompson116

We would also like to restrict users from modifying or creating new requirements in RQM. I'm curious if you ever found a way to do this?

For the last two comments:
To prevent editing of Requirements data within RQM you can revoke the "Save Requirement Work Item" permission in your project's process specification.
Hope that helps.

This suggestion didn't work for me -- at least not for what I would like to do. All of our requirements will be imported from ReqPro, so I would like to somehow disable the Create Requirement option. Is this possible?
