how to report DNG custom links in RPE ?

When a custom link type is defined and used in DNG, it is not possible to report that information in RPE by using 

traceability/links/Link, since only some system-defined link types are accessible in this way.  (Link To, Link From)

What is the way of reporting DNG custom links in RPE ?

Use traceability/links/External, not traceability/links/Link.
