RQM concept questions

Hello Team,

Background: We have 3 weeks sprint - Software tool development team.
every 3 weeks we will have release.

We were before using Doors for Requirement and Test management.
We have TP module - where we have all the Testcases and TR Module - copy of TP Module and have execution status as Passed or Failed.

We have migrated to RQM, now i would like to understand whether below setup is as defined by IBM as well.

- How to i do iterative development using Test plan.
i mean Tool version 1.0 -> new testcases and execution and
tool version 2.0 -> add new testcases and execution.

Our current setup:
- we have one TP -> All testcases for each release we add here.
- we create new TP for each release ( call as Release Test plan) - pull the Testcases specific for release and add regression testcases.

We do not  have any issues above setup. but conceptually or is understanding same from IBM in usage as well.

Thanks

you could also refer to - https://jazz.net/library/article/810. This indicate how to make use of iterative timelines for a particular Test Plan and track progress on execution and managing your test cases for a given release.
