Configure JRS reports through the web link?

Henrik Mattfolk (111) | asked Dec 13 '19, 9:02 a.m.

Hi

When creating a JRS report it can be instantiated on a Rational dashboard where each instance can tailor the settings without duplicating the base report. For example if we like to report on different configurations you do not need to duplicate the report, just tailor the report settings for each instance.

Now my question is if it is possible to do this configuration embedded in the weblink pointing to the report (the report returns an xml result).

Thanks in advance

Hi Henrik, from the dashboard widget, if you click the "Open in new window" link, it will take you to a new tab that shows the full size report. You can bookmark that URL and use it in other places.

Thanks Rafik, that was exactly was I was looking for. Just one follow up, if we would make a change to the report, will that invalidate the link or it it will still work (within some limits of what we modify of course)?

In 6.X, they could get invalidated if you change the order of the columns in the report. In 7.0, we made the URLs more resilient.
