Importing an Excel Spreadsheet that has multiple tabs into DOORS NG

Mary Miller (87232) | asked Jun 14 '19, 1:04 p.m.
Good day,

I have a different question.  I am looking to see what the best option is.  I have a set of Excel spreadsheets that have multiple tabs in it.  One tab contains the requirements.  The remaining tabs contain textual DoDAF Views.  The organization wants to put all of these into DOORS NG.

I suspect that I am going to have to save each tab off as a separate csv file, and import each csv file into DOORS NG.  Would that be the only way to import the Excel file (with multiple tabs) into DOORS NG or is there a way to get the whole thing imported?

Thanks!

Mary

Hi Mary,

Saving each tab as a separate CSV or XLSX would be the normal approach.

You can then import each separate spreadsheet as a module.

If there are extra columns then you need to create the corresponding attributes first as DNG does not auto-create attributes like DOORS Classic does.

Ok.  I was hoping their would be a simpler way.  Thanks!  -Mary
