Vani B (1391275) | asked May 25 '19, 6:45 a.m.

users have been use two different methods for including an image within a requirement artifact.

which is the recommended method of adding images to artifact in DNG?

Method 1:
After saving the image as a .jpg file, in the requirement artifact below the text, insert the .jpg file with artifact type of Diagrams and Sketches.

Method 2:
Copy an image from a Word file and paste it in the requirement artifact below the text.

 Hi Vani,

I add an Artifact Type of "Image" to our projects, and have people use that for any images they upload.
  •  If it's an image that illustrates something specific to a written requirement, they will sometimes use Copy/Paste,.  DNG will then create another artifact for that image automatically, with a generic name, and it assigns it the Artifact Type of the artifact in which it was pasted. We primarily use Modules, so that generically named artifact goes into the 'artifacts' folder for the Module.
  • If it's an image that the user thinks they'll use again (perhaps in multiple Modules), they will upload it using the Artifact Type of Image, and assign their own name so they can easily find it later for reuse.
Thanks,
Carol

It depend how you are categorizing your requirement. Like if you want to see the image a requirement and later it will be easy to filter out.If there is any text and below to represent it and represent altogether a artifact its fine.

So it depends upon you whether you want to consider the image as a requirement. Then always recommend Method 1.
