how to determine the JRE version of the execution environment and build the application with a compatible version  to fix the "Error 500: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: JVMCFRE003 bad major version; class=sendmail/Mailer, offset=6".

I see a similar issue reported in the below forum discussion:

Verify the java SDK used by WAS currently and switch if necessary as suggested.

 Hi Bharath,


Currently WAS is using java SDK 1.7_64. We would like to know how we can change the Compiler Version. The class file is being compiled against jdk 1.8. How can we fix this?
