Can you change the format for Data Type of 'Date' in RDNG?

 On version 6.0.3.  When I use the data type of 'Date' on an Attribute, an entered value of 6/01/2018 is reformatted to Jun 1, 2018.  Is there a way to change that so it will appear in numeric MM/DD/CCYY format?
