Disconnect folders from RTC sandbox

Hello,

in the user manual 
and in the Eclipse client I can see that Eclipse projects that are loaded as top-level folders in the sandbox can be "disconnect"ed from the sandbox.
Is such a disconnect also possible for lower level folders? If not in the client is it possible via Java API.
