Data Collection Component 6.0.4 installation recommendation

Pierre Friend (191915) | asked Sep 19 '17, 9:11 a.m.

Hello,
I am upgrading CLM to v.6.0.4 using existing 5.0.2 data warehouse. JTS, QM, CCM, RM applications are all distributed on their own servers. When I install the Data Collection Component application, can I install it on the JTS server and have DCC use same WAS profile as JTS or should DCC be installed on it's own separate server. The JTS server is windows server 2008 R2 with 4CPUs and 16GB RAM. What is IBM recommendation with regards to this.

Due to it's different processing model and memory profile the DCC should always be installed into a separate server to avoid conflicts, performance issues and out-of-memory errors on the other CLM applications. As all other applications are connected to the JTS, any outages on that application can have wide ranging repercussions. I'd avoid the risk by deploying DCC in it's own server.
