Roman Numerals appear in DNG Viewer

We imported a word document for a user. The document has a regular numbering footer. (1, 2, 3, etc). When we view the document using the DNG viewer, the numbering equals (I, II, III, etc). If we print it out, we get (1, 2, 3, etc).

What gives?
