DOORS Publish > Generate Document results in DOORS not responding

I am using DOORS client 9.5.2.6 with RPE 2.1 on Windows 7 machine with 4GB RAM.
DOORS server is 9.6.1.6.
There is one DOORS module having export issue.
When exporting ("Publish > Generate Document") to Word with RPE 2.1, 1 out of 4 times, DOORS client is not responding.
I have checked the task manager, when DOORS client is not responding, doors.exe is using 90% of CPU.

For a successful export to Word with RPE, you will observe the following in task manager after completing "Document Specification configuration" and clicking on Finish button:

1. the CPU utilisation of doors.exe goes up to 50% and then drops to 0%
2. the CPU utilisation of rpe-launcher.exe goes up to 99% when Word document is being generated
3. the CPU utilisation of rpe-launcher.exe drops to around 80% when Word document is generated

Since you mentioned that CPU utilisation of doors.exe was using 90% of CPU, you have stuck at step 1 and never gone into step 2 (when the actual document generation occurs with RPE).

This normally happens when the available physical memory is low.

You can do one of the following:
1) run "Publish > Generate Document" on another machine with more RAM (say 8GB)
2) close as many unnecessary processes to free up memory before running "Publish > Generate Document"
