Hello,

I have a WI of type "task" that I would like to copy.

my sprints backlogs have stories as WIs. each story has child tasks (as child WIs). I want to copy a child task from one story to another. is it possible? how?

If you want the task to be removed from is first story and to be made a child of the second one, you basically

  1. Open the task you want to move
  2. Remove the parent
  3. Add the new parent
  4. Save

thanks for the answer.

I don't want to move it to another place, I want to copy it with it content (child tasks).

moving a task to another parent is easy...

I'm interesting in copying a task, for example a task says "make a coffee" which has child tasks under it ("pull water", add milk", etc.). I don't want it to be deleted from one story to another, I want to copy it with its childs.

As far as I am aware, there is no built in capability that does this. You will have to duplicate the work items manually and recreate the relationships.

A custom extension could be possible.
