The estimate field is just a user-writeable field.   The value is set by a user based on their knowledge of the task ... it is not automatically filled in by the tool.    An estimate-correction field is used when a user decides the original estimate is incorrect, but wants to keep the original estimate value to compare with the corrected value.
You will have to explain what you mean by "how dashboard works".
