Sort on Due Date?

We're trying to figure out the best way to use RTC for a team that do not work in the agile way. In particular there are no natural iterations to "base" the work on.

One of the issues we've stumbled upon is sorting the work items based on their Due Date, e.g. in a team iteration plan (in the simple team process). You may sort the list on various critera: Priority, Planned Time etc but not on Due Date.

It is possible to get the Due Date shown by including it in the View Layout settings but we really would like to have it sorted in the Due Date order.

Is this impossible or are we missing something obvious?

Regards/Roger

this is currently not possible, as it is prevented by the following two
bugs:

93936: Dates are not rendered correctly
93935: NPE when sorting by due date

just for the reference, it is possible to create a new sort mode:

however, when trying to sort by attribute values which are not set on some
work items, the sorter fails in the Eclipse UI :(
