Search for asterisks in Work Items?

I have a customer who is searching for a Work Item that has 6 asterisks together in the Description field. I told him that I think that the Eclipse client can search for Regular Expressions in WIs.

Anyone know if this can be done in the WebUI?

Problem: the asterisk is the wildcard character and I don't know if you can escape it to search for "*" or something like that.
