How to add version number for the files in a component in Change management ??

I am using jazz ccm version 4.0, We want to version control source code and documents. We are using Eclipse RTC and Cloud jazz ccm.

First I have created a repository. Inside that i have created a stream with one component. Inside that component i am creating a folder structure and i am adding the files.

Say example, In xxx component i have added yy.txt file. I want to update the file so i can lock and download yy.txt and update it with latest yy.txt so where can i get the version number. please help me.

I would strongly suggest to first read up on RTC SCM.

Start with:
https://jazz.net/library/article/539
https://jazz.net/library/article/126

More information

Human readable version numbers where added in 5.x as version numbers are not really needed with a modern SCM system.
