Moving a server
I have a production RQM server and I am moving it to new hardware. My
plan is to bring up the new hardware and install RQM leaving the current production server up and running. I want to make sure everything is working so I will have to use a different host name to bring up and install. Then I will bring down the production server and do an export of the database with repotools and then import into new server. I will then change the address and host name on the new server to the production server. Will there be any problems with this procedure. Does the install and configure under a different hostname get embedded somewhere I need to know so that the transition is smooth as I can afford only a minimal outage. Thanks Dave |

Please upgrade to the latest version of RQM (see https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/) and review the product documentation (see https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/topic/com.ibm.help.common.jazz.calm.doc/com.ibm.help.common.jazz.calm.doc_eclipse-gentopic1.html) and jazz.net resources (see https://jazz.net/help). If your issue persists, please ask a new question (https://jazz.net/forum/questions/ask), open a defect (see https://jazz.net/mystuff/#tab=workitems), or open a PMR (see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21507639). |
