Cross Project Plan View

Hi I am using a Cross Project Plan view that links a "friended"project , I use the "tracks" option on the right click menu that allows me to open a query in the "friended" project , this pulls the workitems into the cross team view . My issue,  I need to see the workitems in the plan view, indented and linked to a workitem. Right not the workitems  are simply links in the Links tab.  Can anyone advise if this is possible ?
