Dashboards and custom attributes in queries

How can I use custom attributes in the parameter field of a work item statistics viewlet on the dashboard of RTC ? I get a long list of attributes that I can select such as priority and severity but I cannot select a custom attribute that i have created.

The attribute I want to use is an enumerated type so it seems reasonable to use that as a categorisation of the viewlet.

Hi Mark,

The ability for the viewlet to surface custom work item attributes defined as enumerations was implemented in the RTC 2.x release.

What version of RTC are you using?

The viewlet picks up attributes defined in these locations:

In the Project Area Editor on the "Process Configuration" tab in this location
"Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Work Items > Enumerations"

Any attribute with an enumeration type will show up

In the Project Area Editor on the "Process Configuration" tab in this location
"Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Work Items > Types and Attributes"

Any custom attribute with an enumeration type will show up

When you create a personal dashboard on jazz.net, you should be able to validate whether this is working.

Take a look at how existing custom enumeration attributes are defined and see if that works for you. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks,
