Restrict Access for a group of users in RTC
Hi Team, We are using Rational CLM 6.0.1. We have created "n" number of projects in RTC and underneath each project there are "n" number of team areas. We want to create a group for a list of users , and provide them specific permission like to view the artifacts only , they will not perform any edit/update operation. I don't want to add "Restricted Access" attribute in each and every work item type. Is there any other way to work around? Thanks , Swapna |

The core here is to understand what users, access groups, restricted access and read access limitations are as opposed to what roles, permissions and operational behavior are.
Access groups can only limit which work items a user can see, read and have access to. If a user can not see/read an item, they can't do anything with them. If you want users to be able to read items but prevent them from modifying the item - "Read Only access", you have to configure the roles that user has so that they have no permission to change anything. Keep in mind, every user that is a member of an area has the Everyone/Default role.
