when clicking on external link it will exit DoorsNG and open in the same browser tab, is it possible to configure it, so that external link will open in a new browser tab?
You'd better configure your browser, rather than RDNG itself, to do so. For example, you can use an extension called Tab Mix Plus (my personal favorite). See below discussion for more information.
