editing test case execution records from a readonly test case
Hi all,
We have a constraint in place in one of our RQM projects where, in a state of Approved or Rejected, a test case is read only.
In version 5.0.2 of RQM, this resulted in all of the fields be readonly, but crucially, in the 'Test Case Execution Records' section we were still able to edit the fields associated with the TCERS listed. (for example, we have a Notes field that users were able to update from here while performing their executions)
Now, in 6.0.2, we find that in a read only test case, even these fields in the associated TCERS are read only in this view - to update them, the users are having to open the TCER, edit it and then close it again.
Not a huge effort, granted but enough of a pain when you're used to the previous process.
Does anyone know if this is the intended behaviour in the 6.x version of the toolset?
Many Thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin
If we make any test artifact read only by autolock (Manage This Project Area->Test artifact-> Auto Lock), then we will not be able to edit any section of the test artifact.
In your case it seems, that you have locked/read only the Test Case by auto lock.
So once you approve or reject the Test Case, you can't edit the Test Case Execution Record inside it.
For any updation work on TCER, you have to open it,edit it and then close the same, which is the intended behaviour as per design.
I hope the above exaplanation clears your query.
Thanks,
Pragnya
