How to write the mapping file while customizing the data collection jobs in dcc ?

We want to customize the dcc jobs. If we want to add a new column(suppose "Description" to the RIODS_REQUEST table) or created new table then which ttl file we have to modify. Is it enough to modify existed files(like workitem.ttl) or will have to create new ttl files.
