Request not showing up on the dashboard

Handré Truter (111) | asked Apr 25 '16, 3:49 a.m.
I have created a copy of a task and then converted the copy to a request.
This has caused the request not display on the dashboard.
I converted the request back to a task and then it displayed on the dashboard.
Could someone please assist as to why this happened?

Well, dashboards don't show anything on their own. You have to add a widget that, for example, runs a work item query and displays the resulting work items. Assuming you have such a widget on your dashboard you should consider that the query is wrong/does not include the work item type request. So I woul consider to fix the dashboard/query or talk to a capable person in your project to do it for you.

 Hi Ralph

Thanks for your response.
I am aware of the widgets and the queries.
Reason for asking the question is that when I create a new request it is identified and displayed by the query in the widget, however when i created the copy of the task and converted it into a request it was not detected by the query.

This is yet another indication that you have to review the query and check what it selects. Something in the query leads to ignoring the copy.
