I am trying to import a word document in DOORS NG 5.0.1. This document contains visio drawing objects with arabic characters. During import visio objects converted into PNG but it makes the arabic words unreadable. i tried on our test environment as well which is on 6.0.1 RC1 but facing same issue.

We have had the same issues with RDNG 5 & 6.

So far what we have observed is that "objects" produced by the Microsoft Office Suite cannot be ingested by the tool. It will take those objects, separate them if they are located within other objects, convert a PNG (each object) and assign each as a newly imported (and separated) artifact, then super-impose them back atop on another in the originally inserted location to appear as though the entire item came in as one object.

The fix we found was to produce objects on PowerPoint slides (.pptx). The tool can handle objects on a slide and will keep them clean. We are still looking for alternative options at this time as well.

we converted all the visio diagrams into pic(jpg or bmp) manually and then imported the document.
