Added new fields(dev owner) to work item template (RFE, User Story) and can see new fields on new work items, but not on existing work items

Hi,
We have added new fields(dev owner) to work item template (RFE, User Story) and can see new fields on new work items, but not on existing work items.

Details - we have added new field - Theme and Dev Owner to workitems RFE, User Story, Theme. The new field is reflecting in new workitems like new rfe or user story but the field is not reflecting in existing workitems.
This is a major block for us to move ahead in out project. Please help urgently.
We are on Jazz version 4.0.11
