 Hi,

We have an existing CLM setup with version 501 and there is a new requirement from the project team for implementing Rational Design Management tool.

Based on that we could stand up a new server installing DM with trial license keys with separate JTS server.

Just wanted to know if we need separate license for DM apart from the one used for CLM (currently use Token Based Licensing)?

Currently our project team is exploring the tool - using the URL -  https://servername:9443/dm/web

Let us know the best practices to be followed for a successful roll out.

Does DM use CLM floating license or we need to request for a seperate license

Design Manager can be added to your token contract (check with the owner of the contract in your organization -- it may already be part of your contract).

Design Management can be licensed by token, floating, authorized user, etc

Like the other CLM tooks, there is a primary license providing read/write accesses and a secondary licenese providing read and comment access.  Each primary license includes the secondary license for the other tools (RTC, RQM, RDNG, RDM). The secondary licenses can be purchased for stakeholders; they are the "Contributors".

The DM primary license is not included in the CLM practitioner license.

You can learn mroe about which licenses enable which capabilities in the knowledge center:
