RTC Eclipse client can't close trims

Paul Bennett (11) | asked Oct 19 '15, 11:40 p.m.
With either RTC 4 or 5 client and Eclipse Juno or higher I can't close trims. For example when I right click on the Current Work trim and select Close, the trim does not go away, though in Preferences > Work Items the "Show current work in status bar" item does get unchecked. Similarly unchecking the check box in Preferences does not make the trim go away.

Works fine in Eclipse Indigo.

Does anyone know of a fix/workaround for this?

Thanks, Paul

Just excuse my ignorance, what is a "trim" in Eclipse? I have never heard such a term.

Paul explained to me that the "trim" is a widget in the Eclipse status bar. I can see the same issue with Eclipse Mars (4.5.0). Besides Current Work, the Quick Search and Metronome widgets both have the same issue - they cannot be closed. Basically, if the options for showing these widgets are unchecked, the widgets are still in the status bar. I think this is a defect.
